HAVANA, Cuba, CMC – Grenada’s Prime Minister Tillman Thomas Monday began an official visit to Cuba at the invitation of President Raul Castro.

The official Cuban News Agency, Prensa Latina, said that Thomas was met on arrival by Foreign Minister Jose Ramon Cabaña.

Thomas, 62, who is also Minister of Legal Affairs, National Security, Public Administration, Culture, Communications and Information Technology, will also hold official talks with Castro and lay a wreath at Cuban National Hero Jose Marti’s monument.

“The visit of the ruling National Democratic Congress party’s leader will contribute to strengthen historic friendship ties between Cuba and Grenada, with diplomatic relations that began on April 14, 1979,” Prensa Latina said.
